On April 25, 1954, the Bureau of Post issued a set of six stamps, three regular and three air mail, to commemorate the centenary of the first Philippine stamp. The stamps, beautifully engraved by the English firm of De la Rue, feature the Queen Isabella II stamp which was issued in 1854.
