1961 2nd National Boy Scout Jamboree

The 2nd National Boy Scout Jamboree was held May 2 -8, 1961 at  Pasonanca Park, Zamboanga., excellent photographs of which can be seen at Bill Fabianik's web site. The 1st National Boy Scout Jamboree  had been held in April, 1954.

The 1959 10th World Jamboree regular semi-postal stamps were overprinted to mark the 1961 Jamboree. The stamps were issued on opening day, May 2, 1961. Two paper types were used to print the original stamps. Individual stamps were printed on yellow-tinted paper while tete-beche sheets were printed on white paper. Both types were overprinted and surcharged.
