The municipality of MacArthur, Leyte, named after Douglas MacArthur, was inaugurated on October 20, 1950. the 6th anniversary of the day MacArthur waded ashore on Leyte to begin the reconquest of the Philippines.

1950 War Widows and Disabled Veterans


 Two semi-postal stamps were issued on November 30, 1950 to raise funds for war widows and disabled veterans.

1950 Baguio Conference



The 1950 Baguio Conference was called by Philippine President in the hope of establishing an Asian regional organization. Australia, Ceylon, India, Pakistan and Thailand participated in the conference held at  the Mansion House, Baguio City from May 26 to 30, 1950. Although an organization was not created, the conference ended with agreement on joint action for the region.

1950 Asociacion Filatelica de Filipinas 25th Anniversary

On May 22, 1950, the Postal Bureau issued three stamps and an air mail souvenir sheet to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Asociacion Filatelic de Philipinas, the oldest philatelic society in the Philippines. U.S. President Roosevelt, an honorary member prior to his death, is portrayed  enjoying his stamp collection.
